Who are we?
President’s Welcome
As we delve into the new year, the Accounting Students' Association is proud to continue the stride of growth and development that has been projected from our founding days. It is with great honour that I take on the 2024 Presidency and together, with our amazing executive team and dynamic committee, we aim to uphold the integrity and prestige of this association. Our mission is to not only provide invaluable networking opportunities, but also to facilitate growth, learning and professional development for our members, bridging the gap between university and the professional services industry.
We are proud to be affiliated with the University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU) and the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE). Throughout the year, the ASA aims to continue the trajectory of hosting engaging in person events to support our members along their journey throughout University and beyond. In 2024, our focus remains steadfast on continuing the expansion of our membership base, solidifying our position as a cornerstone of the commerce community here at the University of Melbourne.
ASA remains dedicated to equipping our members with the skills and experiences necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving professional landscape. In a world marked by uncertainty and change, adaptability is paramount. The continuous generosity of our partners and sponsors serves as a catalyst for growth and exploration for our members to be inspired.
In the year ahead, the professional services industry continues to navigate unprecedented challenges. Throughout the year, the ASA aims to continue our mission to both empower and inspire our members to become capable leaders within the professional services industry. This, of course, cannot be done without the ongoing support of our partners and sponsors, to which we are greatly honoured to hold. With their unwavering support, we are able to deliver insightful opportunities for our members to expand their skillsets, preparing them as capable leaders for the world beyond University. In recognition of the growth of the ASA from 2001, we continue to perceive the potential in front of us, where, in collaboration with our sponsors, we are able to invest in the growth of the next generation of professionals.
With gratitude to our partners, sponsors, UMSU, and FBE, we look forward to a year of renewed collaboration and impact, delivering invaluable opportunities to our members and stakeholders.
